About the Author
Janette Owens
was born in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in a working class
neighborhood in Portland, Oregon, attended Portland public schools, and Johnson
C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, before moving to California,
Texas, and later Florida.
Janette is
founder and president of Oneswan Productions, a small publishing company
dedicated to informing and inspiring amateur writers to explore their literary
talents in unique, creative, and positive ways. She is also experienced in the
publishing, community relations, and housing fields. Janette now lives in

she received much praise from the African-American community. Janette fuses
poetry with prose in an intimate collection of poems and revealing short
