Solibye
by Angela Ortiz-Webb
With swollen sorrow the salty river runs dry
A hollow melody pumps through your veins
A faded spirit longs to soar
Yet, three reasons which you cannot ignore
Quietly the darkness slips into the weary spirit
it then consumes
Flashes of pain blinds the eyes
Rampant whispers screaming wildly
Pierced flesh stings violently
Tired, Tired the mind's eyes
Leave it with a silent lullaby
Up, Up longing to fly
Still loathing the bitter goodbye
Try again the warmth on your face
The gentle kisses on the morning blossom
Envy sweeps the ground
With a soft breeze that has no sound
Beauty fills the sails
Brilliant rainbow that nature has painted
Breathe it in . . . slow yet steady
Breathe it in 'cause you're still not ready
"Patience. Patience," he whispers to the child he
cradles
I am here and Here and I can Hear . . .
I will not leave you . . .
I shall not forsake you . . .
Trust in Me . . .
you Will see . . .
Amen
